"Another Year, Another Battle" Results
Modern Championship Wrestling returned
to the Walsworth Community Center in Marceline on July 30 for its
one-year anniversary show.
The show began with MCW Promoter Dustin Watson thanking the crowd for one year of MCW wrestling, and brought out MCW Champion Jack “The Hangman” Norton and “The Iceman” Howard Mortiz. Watson, who was holding what was the No Limit Championship Title, and re-awarded it to The Iceman as the MCW Missouri Championship.
“Seeing as we are one of the few promotions who want to run in this state,” said Watson. “It was only fitting to make our other Championship reflect the pride that we feel in being in this state.” A newcomer accompanied the pair of Champions to the ring, and Promoter Watson introduced this man as simply The MCW Enforcer.
Watson announced a street fight tag team main event between his two champions, and former MCW Champion Brian Blade and “The Living Legend” Austin Storm. Blade and Storm came to the ring and refused to take part in a street fight.
“I have made a living for over 20 years in the sport of professional wrestling,” said Storm. “So there was no way that I would take part in a brawl like a common thug.”
Watson changed the main event to a standard tag match, left with The Enforcer, and left the foursome to stare one another down in anticipation of their main event battle.
The one-year anniversary show began with round one of a tournament to determine a new number one contender to the MCW Championship. In round one, Tony Raze topped Mad Dog McDowell after a dominating performance from Mad Dog with his new Death Sentence finisher.
“Showtime” Shane Somers took on newcomer Evan Money in the first round, and won a competitive match. After trying to console Money, a former student of his, Somers was blown off by the cocky youngster, who was joined in the aisle by Warden Winter, who accompanied Money to the locker room area.
The Bigg Dogg returned to MCW, and took on JB Payne “The Midwest Mauler.” The Mauler overcame the power attack of The Bigg Dogg to advance to the second round of the tournament.
The final opening round bout saw Pablo the Puerto Rican Poolboy end up injured at the hands of “The Irish Nightmare” Devan Scott. The big, bruising Irishman left Pablo hurting, and the Poolboy needed help leaving the ring.
In a special attraction bout, Jack Gamble took on Jeff Strong. Gamble made up for his debut loss with an exciting win. This competitive bout earned both grapplers a spot in the battle royal held later that night to determine a number one contender to the MCW Missouri Championship.
In second round tournament action, Shane Somers came to the ring for his bout but was brutally assaulted by Evan Money and Warden Winter. Money targeted Showtime's knee, nearly destroying a custom-made steel chair over his former teacher's left knee. Somers demanded to remain in the tournament, and won in a surprise over the Mauler, reversing a figure-four leglock into a pinfall.
Tony Raze continued his night with a win over The Irish Nightmare, and was set to face an injured Somers in the tournament's final bout.
But before that could happen, a battle royal was held to determine a number one contender to the MCW Missouri Championship. The contest was hard fought, and featured all of the wrestlers who had been in that night's tournament. It also featured the in-ring debut of The Enforcer, and the MCW returns of Angel de la Muerte and Silverdust. MCW Missouri Champion “The Iceman” also watched the action from a prime, ringside seat.
In the end, though, controversy ruled as Jack Gamble and Evan Money eliminated one another to end the contest. With the two MCW officials each declaring a different winner, MCW Promoter Watson declared that both men would, in fact, challenge The Iceman at the next MCW show in a triple threat match.
In the finals of the MCW Championship number one contender's tournament, Tony Raze defeated an already-injured “Showtime” Shane Somers. Somers fought valiantly, even hitting his trademark Gourdbuster on Raze, but an assault from Warden Winter and Evan Money left both men unconscious in the ring. Raze recovered enough to drape an arm over Somers, and won the tournament.
In the evening's main event, MCW Champion Jack “The Hangman” Norton suffered his first defeat since winning the title when Austin Storm pinned him. True, Storm had used an exposed turnbuckle and the ropes for leverage, but a loss is a loss.
Brian Blade and The Iceman battled on the outside as Storm's dirty deed payed off for The Living Legend.
This pinfall surely has to vault Storm to the top of the list of contenders for The Hangman's MCW Championship. But what of Tony Raze's number one contender tournament win? Can The Iceman overcome the high-flying threats of Jack Gamble and Evan Money?
Come back for the next MCW event, and see for yourself!

MCW On the Line Results
On April 2, Modern Championship
Wrestling once again showcased the best action in the Midwest with On
the Line at the Walsworth Community Center in Marceline Missouri.
The night featured two Championship matches, as well as lots of
hard-hitting action.
The evening began with the Mylan Management Agency's Chad Mylan introducing the two newest members of the MMA, Silverdust and Austin Storm. Mylan and Storm ran down the crowd in attendance, and prepared to take on “Showtime” Shane Somers. Somers' manager, Garrett Williams, was taken backstage by the MMA, allowing Storm to get the duke on the distracted Showtime.
Two of MCW's newest acquisitions faced off next in a high-flying and hard-hitting contest. Jack Gamble lived up to his name as a top-rope moonsault that found nothing but mat allowed Ethan Wright to utilize a Blue Thunder Bomb to get a win on both men's MCW debut.
Warden Winter berated Tony Raze to the ring, continuing the strife that had plagued the pair since the No Love Lost show in February. Raze and Winter argued, but the corrupt Warden assaulted his former client with a loaded briefcase, ending their partnership.
In a battle with international appeal, the Canadian Destroyer battled Mexico's Angel de la Muerte. The luchador picked up this win, and had a dance contest with a number of the young fans in attendance.
A bruised Tony Raze came to the ring alone to do battle with JB Payne, the Midwest Mauler, of the MMA. A distraction by Chad Mylan to the official allowed the Mauler to hit Raze with a fistful of coins. But a visit to the ring by Shane Somers got this decision overturned and allowed Raze to get the disqualification victory.
The MCW No Limit Championship was contested as “The Iceman” Howard Moritz battled “Superstar” Steve Fender. After a grueling contest, where both men were injured, The Iceman retained when Fender passed out in the ankle lock.
The evening concluded with Jack “The Hangman” Norton doing battle with Brian Blade over the MCW Championship. The match was back and forth, with both men escaping their opponents signature maneuvers. In the end, neither man overcame the other, resulting in a draw. Blade demanded five more minutes, but was rebuffed by MCW Promoter Dustin Watson. Earlier in the night, Watson had noted that after the Championship matches were concluded, the Champion went on to new opponents, and the other man would start his climb to contention again. This did not sit well with Blade, who shoved the promoter to the canvas and rained haymakers on him until The Hangman could make the save.
MCW will return to Marceline on July 30, with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the bell ringing at 6 p.m.

MCW No Love Lost Results
This past Saturday, February 26, Modern
Championship Wrestling returned to the Walsworth Community Center in
Marceline Missouri for a show called No Love Lost. The night
featured an innovative new match type, as well as the crowning of two
new champions.
The evening began with the sponsors being thanked, the building being recognized, and some other bookkeeping items by MCW Promoter Dustin Watson. He was interrupted, however, by the antics of Pablo the Puerto Rican Poolboy, and the debuting Silverdust. The pair sprayed silly string all over the arena, and when confronted by the Promoter, shouted “Stella!” and coated Watson as well.
“Showtime” Shane Somers, accompanied by his manager Garrett “Freakin” Williams berated the Marceline faithful. The pair then went on to deal with Angel de la Muerte, whom Somers defeated with the Gourdbuster.
Silverdust, an enigmatic masked wrestler, then made his compeitive debut in a match with The Bigg Dogg. Dogg used his superior size and strength to manhandle the siver-masked warrior, and won with a big swinging cutter.
In a rematch from a benefit show in Chillicothe Missouri in October, “Superstar” Steve Fender, accompanied by Johnny Gold, did battle with “The Iceman” Howard Moritz. The Gold Exchange proved to be too much for The Iceman on this night, and came away with a controversial win.
Chad Mylan, of the Mylan Management Association, brought his newest client JB Payne “The Midwest Mauler” to the ring and irritated the MCW audience. They did battle with the debuting Austin Storm, a veteran of the ring wars. Storm's experience did not help on this night, as the MMA-led Mauler brought home a win.
Promoter Watson returned to the ring and brought out a pair of the Brookfield Bulldogs High School state champion wrestling team. The pair received a standing ovation from the largest crowd in MCW history and returned to the back.
Watson then explained a new concept in professional wrestling, the No Limit match. And talked about an open bout to take place after intermission for the new No Limit Championship. The rules of a No Limit match are simple:
No pinfalls – matches end via submission or a 10-count knockout
20 counts outside of the ring instead of 10
Two rope-breaks per competitor per match
The title can change hands on a disqualification or count-out
After the intermission, Warden Winter brought Tony Raze to the ring. The corrupt prison guard and his warden/manager ran down the crowd once again, prompting Promoter Watson to head to the ring. After a verbal sparring bout with Warden Winter, Raze was formally entered into the No Limit open match for the Championship. At the count of 10, The Iceman limped to the ring, cutting off “Superstar” Steve Fender, and inserted himself into the contest. After a lengthy battle, The Iceman made Raze tap to an ankle lock to earn the first-ever MCW No Limit Championship.
The Main Event of the evening saw MCW Champion Brian Blade defend his title against the number one contender Jack “The Hangman” Norton. The contest was two-out-of-three falls, with the first fall being a singles bout, the second being a Falls Count Anywhere, and the third being a Lumberjack Match.
Blade took it to The Hangman, and secured a pinfall after “The Cutting Edge” for a first fall win. Blade continued his relentless assault on the challenger in the second fall. Norton fought back, and secured the second fall via an inside cradle on the floor to knot the match up at one fall each.
The MCW roster surrounded the ring for the final fall, and the two gladiators fought tooth and nail for the most prized possession in Modern Championship Wrestling. In the end, a massive Spinebuster from The Hangman secured Jack Norton his first-ever singles championship to the delight of the hometown crowd.
The Iceman and Promoter Watson joined The Hangman in the ring to celebrate. After Watson and Norton's daughter got out of the ring, both competitors were brutally attacked by Fender and Blade. After being chased off by Tony Raze, an act which confused Warden Winter, Johnny Gold, demanded that Superstar Steve get a shot at The Iceman's No Limit Championship at the April 2 event. Simultaneously, Blade invoked his rematch clause against Norton for the same show. Promoter Watson wasted no time in setting up this double main event for the next MCW show in Marceline on April 2.

MCW's Lightning Strikes Twice Results from 10-10-10
Modern Championship Wrestling returned to the Walsworth Community Center in Marceline Mo. over this past weekend with a show called "Lightning Strikes Twice."
The crowd was hot and loud all night long, and were greeted to start the show by MCW Promoter Dustin Watson interviewing "The Iceman" Howard Moritz. Moritz announced his intention to climb the ranks in MCW, and was cut off by MCW Champion Brian Blade. Blade was accompanied by his bodyguard Flex, and the two promptly attacked The Iceman.
After their attack on Moritz, they mentor and student turned their gaze on Promoter Watson. Despite an attempt at a getaway, Blade and Flex were en route to dismantling the promoter, when Jack "The Hangman" Norton made the save. Watson then set up a bout between the team of Blade and Flex against Norton and Moritz.
The opening bout of the evening saw Tony Raze, the corrupt prison guard, take on Pablo the Puerto Rican Poolboy. This was the first contest ever for the Poolboy, who fell victim to Raze and was put on Lockdown.
The second bout saw the return of The Assassin, who took on Tommy Snow. Tommy picked up the win after reversing the chokeslam attempt of the Assassin.
The cries of "Arriba!" filled the air next, as Angel de la Muerte took to the ring to do battle with Cephus the Serial Killer. The deranged Cephus found little to no joy in Angel's shenanigans, and fell victim to the luchadore in the end. After Promoter Watson lured the psychopath to the back, he, Senior Referee Justin Peacock, and Angel de la Muerte celebrated with some festive dancing in the ring.
After the intermission, JB Payne "The Midwest Mauler" ran down the fans in Marceline, as well as the promoter, asking for some competition. Promoter Watson answered personally by introducing Vash Heartly. The two grapplers fought tooth and nail, with Mauler trying to use a roll of nickels to KO the courageous Heartly. In the end, Vash picked up the win in his MCW debut.
In what was supposed to be the Main Event, Promoter Watson personally announced the participants. The Iceman and The Hangman fought tooth and nail with Brian Blade and Flex. Blade went after Watson once again, allowing Flex to fall victim to The Hangman's spinebuster, and a frog splash from The Iceman.
As the duo celebrated their win, Promoter Watson chased his Champion from the ring and announced a battle royal to determine a number one contender to Blade's MCW Championship. It all came down to The Iceman and The Hangman. As the two partners fought each other, Norton was able to pull out a win, and will take on Brian Blade at the next MCW show in Marceline.

Brian Blade captures the MCW Championship
In an exciting night of bouts at the Walsworth Community Center in Marceline, Mo. Brian Blade added the MCW Championship to his impressive list of Independent Titles.
But, the win was not without controversy, as Jack "The Hangman" Norton appeared to have the Nebraska Nightmare down for the count. As Norton checked on downed referee Justin Peacock, Blade low-blowed The Hangman and nailed the Cutting Edge for the pinfall and the win.
Earlier in the match, Norton had eliminated J.B. Pain, The Midwest Mauler after a second-rope elbow drop. All three qualified for the three-way elimination match after winning matches earlier in the night.
